Currently, Singapore is experiencing a donuts craze.

After Bubble tea, Mexican Bun, and now Donut.

Seems like queuing up at Donut Factory in Raffles City and Suntec City for hours to get the donuts is the latest craze here.

Actually, donut is not a new product, it has been in the local market at least 15 years.

While the craze is still crashing in, you think you want to start up a Donut business now?

Will the fate of donuts in Singapore be like Bubble tea, Mexican Bun?

I think, its too late to enter donut market now.

So, what is the next big thing?

I got this old news in my inbox last week.

Here’s proof of what can happen when a woman drags her highly disinterested husband along when shopping. This letter was sent by a British hypermart to a customer in Oxford.

Online Auction Ruse

June 29, 2007 · Posted in Bewares of Scams · Comment

How it is done

After hijacking the online auction account of a legitimate seller by fraudulently acquiring his password, the fraudster will offer sought-after items at very low prices.

Conned

Last September, watch collector Bernard Tan, 53, searched online auction sites for a 1970s Rolex watch. He contacted an auction site in the United States, which had many ‘testimonials from satisfied customers’.

He wired US$4,200 (S$6,400) to a bank in San Francisco for a watch he wanted, as instructed. Ten days later, a rusty 12cm iron strip arrived.

Tips

Internet auction sites are still a high risk, especially when expensive items are involved. More tips can be found on http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com

What Is This Penis-Shaped Trees?

June 27, 2007 · Posted in General · 2 Comments

My friend forwarded this picture to me, which he took some months ago, in Bottle Tree Village at Sembawang.

He caught my attention with this trees.

You may ask, what is this penis shaped trees?

Grass Trees is from Australia and are grow very slowly. Mature plants are centuries old and they can have lifespan of 600 years.

The trunk takes a decade to form initially as it is composed of a mass of old leaf bases held together by a natural resin. It is then a further 20 years or more before the mass of thin, linear leaves rises above it.

It took 27 years to grow to a height of 30cm. As it grows only 1-2cm per year, therefore a 1 metre grass tree is usually about 100 year old.

Very uniquely Australian plant :)
