Photo Hunt: Old Fashioned

The theme for the week is Old Fashioned.

Let’s go to the “modernized” old fashioned Chinatown in Singapore.

You can find lots of old fashioned architectures that no longer exists in other parts of Singapore

You can still see some old wood shop fronts painted in old fashioned colors.

Feel Good News From GrabMyAds

GrabMyAds was launched last year, as I highlighted previously.

From the past months, both NuffNang and Advertlets are quite aggressive in their promotion to attract advertisers and bloggers to expand the internet advertisement market share. For example, NuffNang started exclusive club this month, Advertlets is launching new major ad campaigns targeting Chinese and Malay bloggers.

Just got email from GrabMyAds indicated that they are striking back with more attractive scheme and promotion for bloggers.

1) GrabMyAds offers bloggers 70% ads revenue. On top of that, 5% of the ads revenue will be allocated for events funding. That’s mean GrabMyAds earn only 25%.

2) GrabMyAds is introducing referral program for bloggers to earning extra 5% to 10% of the total earning form the downline.

3) Every new and old registered member will get RM10 sign up bonus. Click the banner on the sidebar to sign up with GrabMyAds to get your RM10.

4) Every registered member will stand a chance on the monthly lucky draw.

5) GrabMyAds also funded a blog aggregator, BlogWink.com which powered by pligg, to help blogger generate more traffic to their blog. Unlike NuffNang’s innit, BlogWink is open to all bloggers.

BlogCharm Closed Down and Finally Got Paid

Was informed by a friend that BlogCharm has been shutdown since 1 January 2008.

This proof that BlogCharm’s Get Paid To Blog concept has failed to attracts enough advertisers and investors to keep the site going.

BlogCharm offer bloggers to make money by inserting text ads on the top thin bar. Bloggers will receive 50% revenues generated from them.

As I remember correctly, I earned US$30 plus from BlogCharm previously and requested for payout on Jan and Sept 2007. However, I was disappointed that BlogCharm did not pay me after several weeks and then months.

In light of the BlogCharm site close down, they want to make sure all users get paid for their blogging efforts. Payments will be made to all BlogCharm bloggers who have earned a minimum of US $10.00 and have made a payment request through the official site.

BlogCharm Closed Down

After 3 days of validate my email with them, finally got paid to PayPal today.

Earning money on the internet is not easy. We’ve seen websites come and go, some sites run for a year or two and then the business folded when they run out of money.

Like I told a friend recently, running any Web 2.0 startups, must be supported by a sound business plan.

Yesterday, had lunch with a few friend at the Pho Hoa Vietnamese Restaurant @ Suntec City.

The restaurant is located in the corner of newly created area, PlayGround at the level three. Not easy to find if not for the direction.

This is my first time to try Vietnamese food.

First, we tried the Vietnamese spring roll (Cha Gio), the spring roll skin is pan fried till crispy, with assorted vegetables inside. It served with sweet and sour sauce. Not very oily.
