  • We want to fully use my skills, knowledge and education.
  • We want to have more time with family.
  • We want to be my own boss.
  • We want to make the decisions.
  • In fact, one reason is a good enough for us to start own business.

I don’t know about others, but I’m start getting tired of the nine to six rat race and are thinking about starting own business.

I keep thinking about this, because I understand that I will never be freedom when living monthly salary. But what business would I want to start?

Bad Prometric Testing Experience at NTUC CertCentral

This morning, I went to NTUC CertCentral Prometric Test Center at Redhill Road, which is 5 minutes walk from my home, to take Microsoft exam 70-646 for Windows Server 2008.

My scheduled exam time is 10:30am. Since I arrived at the Prometric Test Center 20 minutes early, and decided to sit for the exam before the scheduled time.

The facilities at NTUC CertCentral Test Center is quite new, new PCs, LCDs, air-con room is quite cooling and look like I’m making a smooth start in this exam.

    NTUC CertCentral

As usual, we have to click YES to accept all Terms & Conditions and Non-Disclosure Agreement. Just after I clicked Start to load the exam data into the computer, some Program Not Found error pop-up on the Windows XP machine.

I was escort out from the exam room by the proctor while NTUC CertCentral’s staff contacting Prometric to rectify the software problem. After waiting for 20 minutes, I was allowed to enter the exam room to continue the exam.

When I was almost finishing the exam, the NTUC CertCentral’s staff told everyone in the room that they have to SHUTDOWN all computers, because they are facing some problems in their Internet connection. They need to do an urgent maintenance. (WTF!!)

This time round, all of us (3 persons) have to leave the exam room.

At that moment, my feeling was like sian and no mood. sian arrrr!!

We waited for more than an hour for their engineer to resolve the network issues. Luckily, the proctor is able to reload my exam back with my answers.

Long story short. I passed 70-646 exam today and was very happy to get it done.

    First NuffNang Cheque

After waiting for almost 2 months, finally received my First payout from Nuffnang.

The payout amount is not big, only S$50.72, after deducted S$1 transaction fee.

I don’t earn big money from Nuffnang, the most get one or two CPM campaigns per month that generating low earnings.

    Nuffnang Cheque

I would like to suggest Nuffnang to use fund transfer facility in Internet Banking

This would cut down operations overhead in sending paper cheque.

According to UOB, the bank will charges clearing fees of S$0.50 per cheque for all business current accounts.

Instead of sending Thank You letter to members, Nuffnang can save postage cost by sending it to our email account. This small step can help to save more trees too.

By doing so, this could translates higher payout ratio to its member.

Still Using Windows XP? Time To Upgrade To Windows Vista

    Still Using Windows XP?

I’m not surprise that many of you still running Windows XP, including large number of business PCs.

Windows XP is more than 6 years old, and everyone should use migrate the desktop operating system to Windows Vista or Linux, your choice.

Coming end of this month, (30 June 2008) Microsoft will stop selling Windows XP through its retail and reseller like Dell and HP, Lenova, and others that sell PCs that pre-installed with Windows XP.

According to Microsoft, Windows XP is due to end-of-life (EOL) in April 2014.

If you want to continue getting free support, like security fixes, or online DIY support information till April 2014, then you should patch your Windows XP to Service Pack 3.
